     Maritime Patrol Aviation magazine was introduced in 1988 to provide a medium for the exchange October 1988 - First Issue of ideas of importance to the free world on the broader aspects of Maritime Air doctrine and employment of Maritime Air Forces. Secondly, it will report on advancements in the application of Maritime Air Weapons Systems and related high-technology systems that are operational or are being introduced.. Maritime Patrol Aviation is distributed to over 5200 VP International members world-wide as well as to the Senior Maritime Commanders; Squadron Commanders; Operational Control; Research and Development; Equipment Procurement and Logistics Support echelons of the Maritime forces of Australia, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Malaysia, Republic of South Africa, France, The Netherlands, Spain, Germany, New Zealand, Thailand, Greece, Norway, The United Kingdom, Indonesia,  Portugal, USA, Italy and Singapore

Editorial Policy

Contributions are welcome, as are comments and criticism. Guidelines for the submission of major articles, opinion pieces and book reviews are contained herein. The views expressed in printed articles, unless explicitly stated otherwise, do not in any way reflect official policy of any government, and are the personal views of the author. The editor reserves the right to make any editorial changes he believes will improve the material submitted without altering the intended meaning.

 

Guidelines for the submission of Major Articles, Opinion Pieces and Book Reviews 

All submissions should be typewritten on 8 1/2" x 11" or A4 Metric paper, double-spaced, with the text on
one side of a page along with a copy of the submission in MS Word on disc. Email submissions are also acceptable.

Major Articles.  Manuscripts should not exceed 2,500 words (not including footnotes).  Sub-headings should be used to indicate appropriate subdivisions of the text.  Photographs or other illustrations should accompany the manuscript where possible.  These will be returned after publication.
Short Articles/Opinion Pieces. 
Manuscripts of short personal opinion should not exceed 1,500 words.
Book Reviews.
  Manuscripts should not exceed 600 words.  Reviewers should consult a previous edition for the format of review headlines.
Clearance.
  In submitting a manuscript, the sender warrants that it is his own personal work, and that it has not been previously published or is under consideration for publication by some other magazine or journal.  Serving personnel are understood to have received clearance of manuscripts from their immediate superior.

Personal Background.  Authors are requested to provide a brief description of their current position and location as well as a photo of themselves.

Editorial prerogative.  The editor reserves the right to edit any manuscript accepted for publication.

 

Advertising Policy

Published annually, the magazine reaches a large target market and represents a unique advertising and public relations medium for potential advertisers. Advertising rates are available on request. Advertising deadlines: materials must reach VP International Headquarters at least 45 days prior to publication. Maritime Patrol Aviation reserves the right to refuse advertising that, in not in the best interest of VP International.
